This journal is for those who supported proposition eight, the California constitutinal amendment that officially banned same-sex couples from being legally recognized. What gives you the right to intrude on the private lives of your fellow men and women, and claim you were sent by God? Why is it okay for two irresponsible teenagers who didn't use contraception to get married, and live the next stage of their lives in unhappiness, but it is reprehensible for two people that happen to be of the same gender, who genuinely love one another to be allowed the same rights? Sean Penn put it better than I could have, "You will see the shame in your grandchildren's eyes." And He's right, future generations will look back on what you have done, and be ashamed that we who called ourselves free men and women could have been so hateful and close-minded. History will remember you in the same light as the Nazis and the Klan, so I ask you to explain yourselves. What have you to say in your defense?
